Around 190 people have enjoyed the concert performed on the 31st of August in the church as a way to promote the knowledge, the dynamization and the diffusion of the heritage in the areas where the Plan intervenes.
We must remember that the intervention of the Atlantic Romanesque Plan in the church of San Martín de Castañeda implied the conditioning and transformation of the sacristy into a chapel adapted to the need and usage of the faithful, but that it did not end there.
The of the team of the Plan, promoted by the Junta de Castilla y León, Iberdrola and the Ministério da Cultura do Governo de Portugal, in collaboration with the Fundación Santa María la Real del Patrimonio Histórico, is still based in making the temple a center and reference of cultural dynamization, through the scheduling of concerts such as the one by the Dulsica group, the one by the Grupo de Música Antigua de la Universidad de Valladolid or the last one by the chamber ensemble Quartet NEUMA, celebrated thanks to the collaboration of the MusaE project and the Ayuntamiento de Galende.
The chamber quartet, integrated by Estela Córcoles, Alejandra Villalobos, Anna Pujol and Raquel Díaz, has performed pieces from authors such as Andrey Rubtsov, Anton Reicha, Eugène Bozza, Adolphe Wouters or Anze Rozman.
The performance allowed for the understanding of their particular way of working and understanding music, with an original performance that integrates texts and poems to stimulate the public’s imagination.
The ensemble was formed during their study years in the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya, with the flute player Júlia Gállego. During their trajectory the group has received great national and international recognition for their sound quality and homogeneity and for their connection to the scenery. Thus they have won several national awards and have performed different tours in Spain and throughout Europe, with concerts in Germany, Aragón, Brussels, Castilla y León, Euskadi, Madrid and Valencia. The quartet has taken part of the MusaE program, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport to join music and heritage and contribute to the formation and promotion of new talents.
