Adeganha

This small village is located on the top of a hill in the Bornes mountain range.  In the valley, there are various plantations because of the fertile river and there are also some cliffs.  In respect to the heritage, there is an abundance of natural stone and it was used generously in all of the constructions.  Therefore, we can see an interesting collection of traditional rural architecture with two storey houses with exterior staircases.

Among some of the interesting elements in the area is the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario originating from the Late Romanesque period.  A series of archeological remains from the Late Medieval period have been found in the surrounding areas.  One in particular is the castle of Adegahna.

The parish church of Adegahna is characterized by a relief found on the face of the main facade.  It exhibits three women representing a birth.  Also noteworthy are the tombs located in the exterior arcosoliums and the mural paintings in the interior.
